Offline Advertising Bonanza!

July 15, 2008 by Profitopia

I’m always thinking of new cost effective ways to offline advertising since it really pulls in traffic to this website.  While many of my techniques are still in the concept stage, I decided to share a few with you to hopefully inspire others to come up with their own innovative ways to do some offline advertising.

Drive Your Advertising:  Imagine having your URL embedded into your rear tire treads.  Everywhere you went that left a tire impression would clearly leave your website’s name for others to read.

Stamp It:  Get a stamp made with your URL and stamp every piece of money that you come in contact with.  Money does get around and so will your URL, try it and let me know your results.

Stadiums & Arenas:  Put a poster or sign up with your URL where people get interviewed or where the action is happening.  Your website’s name could be seen by thousands or even millions if it is televised.

Bus Stops:  Post your URL at as many bus stops as possible, especially the busy ones.  A bus can hold approximately 60 passengers, some buses run every 5 minutes.  You could be exposing your website’s name to over 700 people every hour from a single bus stop.  Then multiply that by the amount of bus stops that you posted on and you could soon be in the tens of thousands of views per day.  Something like that online would cost you thousands of dollars.

High Traffic Intersections:  Get a sign or sticker made with your URL and post it at busy street intersections.  I live in a medium size city and know of a few intersections that have well over one hundred thousand cars pass through daily.  Even if only a small percentage of drivers and their passengers acknowledge your URL, that will still be more than enough to make it worth while.  Another great aspect of this is the fact that they will continue to see it day after day, which means just because they don’t rush home to visit your URL today, doesn’t mean that they won’t consider going there on the weekend.

These are just a few of my ideas on how to do some cost effective offline advertising.  These methods are somewhat unconventional and may not even be completely legal so if you choose to use any of them, it’s best to use your own discretion and obey your local laws.  Another important point is that this type of advertising is not suitable for just any type of website.  Generally, if you are going to do unconventional offline advertising like this, your website should be suitable for all types of folks, because that is exactly who you will be getting.
