Blog Traffic Techniques - Profitopia dot net

July 20, 2008 by Profitopia

Getting new visitors to a blog is always a challenge so I thought I would provide a few blog traffic generation techniques.  Use these traffic generation techniques to help drive traffic to your blog.

Article Trading: Trade articles with industry related webmasters and bloggers, but ensure you get a link back with your preferred link text.

Contraversial Articles: Create controversy that will get your blog noticed, everyone loves to discuss extreme opinions. This will gain you valuable backlinks from unlikely sources.  If the content is well written, it will be picked up by some major sources and search engines.

Press Release: Submit a press release about your latest article or news.  There are many free and paid press release submission services that also teach you how to write an effective press release.  Every time you have a significant announcement, say it through a press release to receive traffic.

Peer Reviews: Let your networked friends know that you’ll do reviews and testimonials, do it for free if you get a quality backlink in return.

Top Lists: Create lists of “top 10” or “best of” regularly; people enjoy linking to lists that are interesting.  Lists have a surprising long life span too, so don’t just copy someone else’s list, create your own and it will pay huge rewards over time if it is original.

Interviews: Interview someone in your niche.  Interviews are not used very often, so their effectiveness is great on reader retention and will naturally attract backlinks from the search engines and other related websites.

Content Rewriting: Rewrite old content from your website that may have been buried too fast, give it a new title and resubmit to the usual places (Digg, Reditt, etc..  A good topic can be rewritten at least 5 times, so start rewriting about those hot topics to receive additional recognition.
