Adsense Is Still Profitable

July 13, 2008 by Profitopia

Adsense profits vary from website to website because of the amount and quality of traffic they receive.  “You” as an Adsense Publisher are probably always looking for ways to optimize your Adsense revenue by filtering out low paying ads, changing the position of your ads and how you embed them into your website’s content.

All of these factors do matter and will impact your Adsense Revenue for the better or worse depending on the adjustments you make.  I’ve been using Adsense ads on many of my websites now for several years and know that ad placement is the most critical part of making money.

The preferred ad placement is at the beginning of your post or article which is 336 X 280 which Google refers to as a Large Rectangle.  It can be text or image, does not seem to really matter, as long as it is embedded at the beginning of your post or article.

As far as controlling the content from Adsense, ultimately Google will decide this to try to provide the Advertisers the most targetted traffic available from your website.  If your content is about home insurance, then chances are the ads will display insurance related ads, if your content is pet related, then chances are your ads will display pet related ads, I think you get the picture.

While many online income earners still are building websites for Adsense Revenue, this is a trend that is on the decline.  To attract enough visitors to make a profit from Adsense Revenue, you need at least a few hundred unique visitors per day.  Out of the few hundred visitors, you might receive approximately 4 to 5 clicks per day and up to 500 impressions typically.  Depending on your niche, this could make you anywhere from 20 cents per day to a few bucks.

There comes a time when every online earner wants to break out of the low revenue game and start making real money.  By building made for Adsense sites, chances are you will won’t be breaking out anytime soon.  As Google tightens the rules, so too does your revenues.

If you decide that Adsense Revenue is still a viable option, you’ll want to make the most of having these ads on your site and maximize every opportunity.  My best advice on how to maximize your Adsense Revenue is by doing the following:

• Use 3 Adsense Ads on every page of your website (current limit set by Google)
• Ensure all 3 ads are visible on the page without scrolling
• Make the links match your website’s theme
• Only use Adsense Ads on your websites with quality traffic
• Use both image and text ads to add variation
• Embed a Large Retangle Ad at the beginning of your post or arrticle

There have been dozens of E-books written on optimizing Adsense Revenue, but if you are going to stay legitamate its best to avoid some of these tactics that may be available that will get you banned by Google.  If you want to push the envelope with Google Adsense, I know of others who have success by doing the following:

• Putting Adsense Ads close to an image that indicates to click the ad
• Using more than your allowable amount of Adsense Ads
• Using Adsense Ads on your error pages such as 404, etc.
• Paying or encouraging people to click on your Adsense Ads
• Going through web proxies to click on your own Adsense Ads
• The list goes on and on and on…

If you want to sabatage your Google Adsense Account, go ahead and use these methods, alternatively if you want to make a slow flow of revenue, stick to the basics.

You can still make a good living from using Adsense if you really want to, but the method I’m about to show you is still tough.  If you know you can build made for Adsense site that generates even a dollar a day, you should multiply your efforts by a hundred times.  If you can build a website in 1 day (which is reasonable for an experienced webmaster) that has quality content, host it on a cheap hosting account you will be well on your way.

Here are the exact steps to build 100 made for Adsense websites:
• Establish a hosting account that allows for unlimited domains
• Research 20 known profitable niche markets to base your websites on
• Build 20 individual websites based on your 20 niche markets
• Register 20 suitable domain names for your 20 niche websites
• Optimize each website to the best of your ability or using known optimization methods
• Embed with Adsense Ads using previously discussed guidelines
• Publish all 20 websites with minimal linking to each other
• Utilize free advertising methods such as Digg, FaceBook, etc to promote them
• Continue to add new websites to each niche until you reach 5 for each niche

In addition to these steps, you will be monitoring your incoming traffic to understand who you are attracting to your made for Adsense websites.  You will inevitably drop a few niches and new ones to suit your overall revenue comforts.

This method works and continues to work and will work for anyone who choses to use it.  It is a ton of work and requires about 40+ per week to execute successfully.  For those who are new to Adsense, use these steps to get the job done right and you will make money.

Using my steps to make money from Adsense will cost you money to implement, approximately $1000 over a year because of hosting costs and domain registration.  It really comes down to the cost of doing business and most businesses will cost you something.

What can you expect for your $1000 investment and hard work?  Well, if you manage to even make $1 per day per website, that’s $3000 per month after you are up and running, and $36,000 per year on average.  The fact of it is that some of your made for Adsense websites will be making more than others depending on promotion and optimization methods.  I leave it to you to decide which ones are worthy of renewing and which ones are at the end of their profitable lifecycle.
